Originating from the Indian subcontinent, Hemp is a coarse, bushy plant called Cannabis sativa. Over time it has since spread to much of Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Despite requiring full light, it thrives in most soil types providing they are damp. This is also the plant from which the drug named cannabis is from – however, hemp is a low THC or THC-free. It can grow up to four metres tall, producing long, palm-like leaves.
